The FLAVIS database is developed to support the activities of the EFSA evaluation of flavouring substances and is the basic working tool in the flavouring substances evaluation programme under the auspices of EFSA.
The FLAVIS database contains specifications, intake data, use levels, evaluation status and toxicity data for more than 2600 chemically defined flavouring substances used in the European Community.
As the system is a working tool in the evaluation, the system can be under development as new functions can be developed upon request.
The FLAVIS secretariat develops and maintains the FLAVIS database.
